What event is better than the WBC? Every 3 to 4 years countries from around the world recruit resident MLB players, unknown heroes, and sometimes electricians from Prague, to put on a show against each other. I will sit there and watch every second of every single Team USA game any time they are on. Baseball and the USA? How could anyone not watch?
The American captain is Aaron Judge for the 2026 WBC? I don't think so. He's never participated in one before. He probably thinks he can't do much worse than he did in the playoffs last year so why not play in 2026. How does a guy who has never represented our nation, with all the opportunities to do so, immediately get the royal treatment?
Secondly, Mike Trout still exists. It's yet to be confirmed if Trout is going to play in 2026, but he lives for competition so he will. He's a guy who has been a stellar player for more than a decade now and has led Team USA before. He is the captain of this team, not some first timer being pushed by the New York media.
Lastly, there is only 1 Captain America. It's David Wright. In 2013 Wright carried the USA with outstanding play in the tournament earning the nickname for himself. So before we go calling a guy who has never competed on this stage "Captain America" lets remember who the real big boys are.
