Merrill Christmas

  Jackson Merrill just signed a 9 year 135 million dollar contract extension, and the Padres are thrilled that this is the case. The best young talent the game has to offer and the fact he played 156 games last year makes him more attractive than the next guy. He is truly a 5 tool player, he hits for average, power, steals bases, and covers so much ground in Center field. Multiple MVPs await, and his signing will keep the Padres competitive for the next decade, that is just the type of player he is. The NL west is clearly the most competitive division in baseball, 4 serious contenders. It's crucial the Padres have guys like Merrill leading the way for years to come.  I’ve said it before, and I'll say it again: this Padres team is scary, and it's possible they are the best team in baseball.
